(N.E.S.A.C. registration cards are valid for the Philadelphia area.) Members of high school varsity teams will not be permitted to compete in the “Classic”. Each player in the “Classic” must have played in at least eight games with the team with which he is registered, validated by team score book. All decisions concerning player eligibility, as determined by the Classic Director, are final, no appeals. A minimum of one year suspension from “Classic” participation will be administered to teams found in violation of the rules.
3. Forfeits:
Classic Director will be responsible for the final decision to forfeit a game. Forfeit score will be 2-0. Limited time and space may make it necessary to declare a forfeit if a team is not prepared to play at its appointed starting time.
4. Players’ Rosters:
A maximum of fifteen (15) players may dress for each of the games of the “Classic”. The players listed on the roster, officially registered for “Classic” play, are the only ones permitted to play.
5. Players’ Uniforms:
Each team must be fully uniformed with sneakers, the same type jersey (numbered with no duplicate numbers), and same type trunks. If your team is equipped with light and dark jerseys please have both available for all games, should color duplication exist with one of your opponents.
6. Three Point Rule:
There will be three point shots in the Junior and Intermediate Divisions only. There will be no three point shots in the Pee Wee and Midget Divisions.
7. All games will be played in two halves:

Junior (Boys and Girls) - 15 minute halves
Intermediate - 16 minute halves
8. Each team will be permitted two time outs per half.
A. Unused time outs cannot be carried forward into the second half or overtime.
B. One time out per team in first overtime only. No time outs permitted in sudden death.
9. Extra Periods (Overtime):
A. First Overtime – Three (3) Minutes
B. Second Overtime – Sudden death (one point wins)
10. Foul Shooting Rules:
A. One and one on the seventh foul in each half.
B. If a team has reached the bonus foul in the second half, the one and one rule applies in the overtime periods.
C. On the tenth and succeeding fouls in the half, two shots will be awarded.
D. Play ball on release of shot.
11. Stopping of the Clock:
Because the “Classic” demands regimented adherence to time the official clock will run with the following exceptions:
A. Held ball – Alternate possessions will be utilized instead of jump. Possession arrow will point to team bench receiving next possession.
B. Foul shots
C. Team time outs
D. Official time outs; i.e. injuries, equipment problems, ball retrieval
E. In the final one minute of the first half and the final two minutes of regulation and overtime periods the clock will be stopped for all stoppage of play.
12. Substitutions: Substitutions may be made during any situation outlined in Rule #11 above, and whenever the ball is deemed dead (in Referee’s possession).
13. Dunking is strictly prohibited at any time during the Classic. Penalty, if during the game, 2 shot technical foul and lose of possession of the ball.
14. Defenses: All types of defenses, including full court press, zone and man to man, will be permissible at all times. Exceptions – Pee Wee Division only – No full court press permitted by team with a lead of 15 points or more. Penalty first offense, warning; 2nd offense, 2 shot technical foul and loss of possession.
15. Bustleton Bengals Club will supply officials, scorers, timers, basketballs, trophies, and awards.
16. Bustleton Bengals Club will furnish all basketballs (game and practice). No personal basketballs are permitted in the gym, including club or team balls.
17. It would be prudent and helpful if each team would appoint a parent or coach to take care of valuables belonging to its players. Please do not leave valuables in the locker rooms. We regret that Bustleton Bengals Club cannot assume responsibility for any articles lost during the “Classic”.
18. Each club is responsible to provide a representative to control the conduct of their team and their own fans. Good sportsmanship on the part of the participating teams and their fans is essential for the success of the Bustleton Basketball Classic. Any coach, player, or follower who verbally abuses the referees or “Classic” officials will be subject to immediate ejection from the gym. Such decisions will be made by the referees and/or “Classic” officials. Failure to control a team or its fans may result in a forfeit. This decision is to be made by the “Classic” Director.
19. The success of Bustleton Basketball Classic depends entirely on your cooperation.
Thank you, and wishing you “SUCCESS IN CLASSIC XXXVII”!!!
